1. Our primary sources

For anything about the test itself, the fee, the format, the pass mark, booking, ID or reasonable adjustments, our source is CITB at citb.co.uk.

For anything about cards, eligibility, validity or applications, our source is CSCS at cscs.uk.com, including their news and card-type pages.

For health and safety law and regulator guidance, we point to the Health and Safety Executive at hse.gov.uk rather than paraphrasing it.

Booking and test-centre mechanics come from Pearson VUE, who deliver the test on CITB's behalf.

2. What we do not treat as a source

• Other revision and mock-test websites. During research we found current competitor pages quoting a superseded test fee, listing eight specialist topics when the official number has long been twelve, and naming a retired revision publication code.
• Forum posts, social media and video comments.
• Our own previous pages. Facts are re-verified against the primary source, not copied forward.

3. How facts are dated and re-checked

Every page carrying a time-sensitive fact shows the date it was verified. Fees, validity periods and scheme rules are re-checked on a regular cadence and after any CSCS or CITB announcement.

When a fact changes, we update the page, change the date, and where the change matters to readers we record it on our scheme-changes page rather than quietly editing.

5. The limits of our methodology

This is the part most revision sites leave out, so here it is plainly.

• Our question bank is smaller than the official one and smaller than the largest commercial banks. It is enough to find your weak topics; it is not exhaustive coverage.
• A small number of answers are flagged internally as needing verification against the official CITB revision publication. They are in the bank because the underlying safety point is sound, but we would not call them settled.
• We do not replicate every official question format. Image-based, drag-and-drop and hot-spot questions are best practised with the official CITB app.
• Some specialist topics do not yet have their own question set. Those pages say so instead of padding with generic content.
• CITB does not publish a retake waiting period, and third-party sources contradict each other. We report that disagreement rather than picking a number.

6. Who reviews the content

Content is written and reviewed by our named editor, who is a researcher and writer rather than a safety practitioner, and whose team page states that openly.

7. Tell us when we are wrong
