CSCS Test ID Requirements

The most avoidable way to lose 23.50 pounds. Accepted primary ID is a passport, a photocard driving licence or an eVisa, each covering photo and signature on its own. Photo required, signature required, arrive 15 minutes early, no refund if you are refused entry.

This is the single most avoidable way to waste £23.50. You must bring ID showing both your photograph and your signature. Turn up without it and you will not be allowed to sit the test — and the fee is not refunded.

The rule in one line

Photo and signature. A passport or photocard driving licence covers both on its own — which is why they are the safest things to bring.

  • Non-UK/non-EU photocard driving licence
  • Passport without a signature

Special situations

Your name has changed

Bring original evidence linking the name on your ID to your current name — a marriage or civil partnership certificate, decree absolute or decree nisi papers, or a deed poll.

You are under 16

You need a completed parental consent form alongside acceptable ID. If you cannot provide the required ID, there is a separate form that must be signed by someone in a position of responsibility at your school or college.
