Gold Supervisor: practise the Supervisory topic

The CSCS Supervisory Specialist Test page sets out what the topic covers: permits and method statements, inductions, stopping unsafe work, near misses and toolbox talks. It runs practice quizzes on leading safe work, each question with its explanation.

Expect core health and safety questions on the day as well. For timed practice, the CSCS Specialist mock test runs 50 core knowledge questions in 45 minutes. It does not draw Supervisory questions.

Gold Skilled Worker: practise the test for your trade

Most Gold Skilled Worker applicants sit the Operatives test, and the CSCS mock test for Operatives matches it: 50 questions, 45 minutes, 45 correct to pass.

Some occupations need a Specialist test instead. Roofers, for example, sit the Work at height specialist test.

What happens if you book the wrong test

Every variant costs the same £23.50, so the price will not warn you. A pass on the wrong paper will not support your card application, and you pay to sit again.

Before you travel, check your booking confirmation names the test your card needs.

The rest of the gold card application

Your test pass must be from the last two years when you apply, and both gold cards last five years. For the Supervisor card, City & Guilds qualifications issued from 1 April 2013 need the e-certificate as evidence. The full rules are on the Gold CSCS card page.
