Scope, Limitations & Independence

1. We are not the official body

We have no affiliation with, endorsement from, sponsorship by, or connection to the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), CSCS Ltd, Pearson VUE, or any awarding organisation. We are not an approved training provider and we do not issue qualifications.

CSCS, CITB and the names of the various card schemes are the trademarks of their respective owners. We use them only to describe the tests and cards we are writing about, which is normal descriptive use.

2. Our questions are not the real exam questions

The official CITB Health, Safety and Environment question bank is protected by copyright. We do not have it, we have never had it, and we do not reproduce it.

Every question on this site is written in our own words to reflect the same published syllabus areas and the same style of question. They are designed to teach you the underlying safety knowledge that the real test assesses. They are not, and are not intended to be, copies of the questions you will see on the day.

Any site claiming to give you the real, current CITB questions is either mistaken or infringing copyright. Treat that claim as a warning sign.

3. Passing our mock does not guarantee passing the real test

Scoring 45 out of 50 here is a good sign that you are ready. It is not a prediction, a guarantee, or a substitute for revising the official materials. The real test draws from a much larger bank than ours, and includes question formats we do not fully replicate, such as image-based and drag-and-drop questions.

We recommend using this site alongside the official CITB revision materials, not instead of them.

4. This is not professional health and safety advice

Everything on this site is educational revision content aimed at helping you pass an exam. It is not a substitute for the site-specific training, induction, risk assessments, method statements and supervision that your employer is legally required to provide.

Never make a real decision about your safety, or anyone else's, on the basis of a practice question. On site, follow your employer's instructions, your site rules, and the law. If something is unsafe, stop and speak to your supervisor.

If you need authoritative guidance on health and safety law, the Health and Safety Executive (hse.gov.uk) is the regulator and the correct source.

5. We are not a source of card eligibility decisions

We explain which card generally requires which test, because that is one of the most confusing parts of the process. We are summarising publicly available information from CSCS, not making a determination about your individual eligibility.

Only CSCS can tell you which card you qualify for. Before you pay for anything, confirm your route with the official CSCS Card Finder at cscsonline.uk.com/card-finder.

6. Information changes, and we may be out of date

Fees, card validity periods, syllabus content and application rules change, sometimes at short notice. We date every fact we publish and we re-check them, but there will be moments when the official position has changed and this site has not caught up yet.

The official sources always win. Where anything here conflicts with citb.co.uk or cscs.uk.com, believe them and please tell us so we can fix it.

7. Accuracy of our answers

Our practice questions are researched and written by our editorial team, and a small number are marked internally for further verification against the official CITB revision publication. We would rather tell you that than pretend to a precision we have not yet earned.

If you believe one of our answers is wrong, please report it. Corrections are logged and dated under our corrections policy.

8. Book only through official channels

We do not take bookings or payments for the CITB HS&E test and we never will. When we tell you the test costs a certain amount, we are reporting the official fee, not charging it.

Book through CITB and Pearson VUE directly. Be careful of third-party resellers charging a premium for a booking you can make yourself.

9. Limitation of liability

This site is provided free of charge and on an as-is basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss arising from reliance on this website, including a failed test, a rejected card application, lost work, or any cost incurred.

Nothing in this statement limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
